Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. The pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.
This photograph is very fitting for our current circumstances, dark and gloomy and isolated.
It was indeed created with that in mind. Thank you for commenting, Holly.
Be safe Otto.
You too.
Thank you Otto.
Beautiful. Love the purple darkness
Thank you, Dale.
Otto – This one’s very interesting, a flattened-out and metallic-looking world – – a bit sinister feeling, really, and a very cool effect.
Sinister is quite the right word in these times, don’t you think?
Yes, I’m afraid so.
That’s like a movie still, just before the meteor hits!
Or something much smaller, but just as dangerous.
And insidious, I think I’d prefer the wham bam of a meteor now, and not this endless worry going on everywhere. Fait acompli more my style! 😊
The tones are calming, and the content and perspective conjure many scenarios. Hope that you are safe and well.
Thank you, Sally. Yes I am – as safe as one can be these days. Hope the same for you.
The picture looks the old film day..
Yes, I agree. It does: 🙂
The world looks as though it’s been bruised.
And hasn’t it?
I’m trying to remember now if I saw this on IG or have missed it there. I really like it here, where I am viewing on a laptop vs. phone. In my opinion, this one does better or a bigger display. I do like it a lot.
There are a lot of details in the photo, so yes, it makes sense that it’s better with a bigger screen.
Amazing how much “stuff” is in this photo. Very nice.
Art
Thank you, Loujen.
wow, it almost looks like an alien land scape… like they terraformed mars lol
Isn’t it where we are?
Lots of detail in this strong image, Otto. Have you done a lot of editing or is just one layer that has transformed the scene?
Basically one filter from Snapseed. With some tweaking 🙂
what an incredible vantage point and pairs so well with the filter
Thank you, Sherri.
It matches our dark mood, Otto, but I’m trying to stay cheerful. No use expecting the worst until it happens, is there? Stay safe, hon! 🙂 🙂
No, indeed we need to try to stay positive. Stay safe, you too, Jo.
Now that is ‘the big picture’
Stay well Otto
Regards Thom
Thank you, Thom. And likewise.
I can order your books. I tried to before but somehow I couldn’t. Can you sign 3 for me? Use PayPal. Purple can bring you out of darkness if you add light
Indeed so. As for the books. Just to make sure, which one are you talking about?
We are what we think, if we want to be feeling dark and sad. The situation gets worst. We need love and hope to believe we can overcome. Just remember I love you.
Yes indeed. Our thoughts make what we are. And we become our thoughts. Thus, keeping up hope and love is so important.
These are bleak times and that is how the photo represents. I found myself wanting to examine it closer and look for signs of life, vitality and health.
Life is still present, but hard to notice. We all seek shelter from the virus storm.
I really like this!
Thank you, Julie.
