Once a month I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last month. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. The pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have. Oh, dear….slippery rocks, an opening high up among the trees. Looks like a good story here, Otto. Wonderful photo.
Thank you so much, Lois.
Love this, Otto…texture, light, mystery.
I am happy to hear. Thanks, Jane.
Lovely tones and I like the texture.
Thanks a lot.
Love the depth in this, due in large part to the lighting…nicely atmospheric!
I appreciate your feedback. Thank you, Sue.
😊
I like this one a lot, probably partly because it came as a surprise to what I expect from your work. It’s nice to give the brain a little surprise now and then. It’s beautifully crafted, sucked me right into the heart of the scene.
I am really glad that I am still able to surprise. 🙂 Thank you for the feedback, Alli.
This one makes me wonder where it is and want to explore.
In a way it could be anywhere. I wanted to create that feeling of wonder or mystery. Thank you, Dawn.
Great composition. So nice how you’ve put these two images together.
Thank you (but it’s actually only one image).
I want to walk into your photo. So nice
Thank you for commenting, Mary.
I see some other people have shared my reaction – a bit of mystery, an opening for a story, the stone-paved platform as a stepping-off point for exploration.
That was exactly what I wanted to create with the photo and the processing of it. Thanks a lot, Robert.
Wow, that’s quite a glow…this deserves a longer look than the typical Instagram views! Wonderful!
Thank you so much, Lynn.
Nicely atmospheric, Otto 🙂 🙂
Thank you, Jo.
This photo has so much character, Otto, and many possible interpretations. Very intriguing!
Thank you for the feedback, Tanja.
This is very intriguing, Otto. I don’t know if I’m looking at sunshine, fog, or perhaps something else in the atmosphere. It makes a very dramatic effect, open to interpretation. Very nice!
Yes, to all, fog, sunshine and so. I am glad you like it. Thank you, Debra.
For me, intriguing and magical. Feels like I’m the one standing on that stone looking out into the world.
I like your vision. Thank you, Frank.
It looks like some kind of jumping off point to another world.
I like that. Maybe a corona free world? Thanks, Michelle.
Another stunning photo, Otto. ❤
Thank you.
This reminds me of a place near my hometown in Tennessee. Fantastic views.
That’s cool – as it’s captured almost on the other side of Earth. Thanks for commenting, Joshua.
The texture overlay you chose, along with the muted color palette gives the viewer a strong sense of atmosphere.
That’s what I hoped to achieve. Thanks for the comment, Denise.
Very nice composite image! I like the overlay of the texture over the sky and the warm light far away.
Thank you so much.
A single word came to mind as soon as I looked at this: Transfiguration. Centuries of artists from Fra Angelico to Titian to Raphael have tried to convey the Biblical account of the Transfiguration of Christ on the mountain with their paintings, but I think your photo outshines them all.
Those are quite some words. Makes me all very humble. Thank you, Linda.
looks like the place they had to go look for the ring in Lord of the Rings lol kinda skeeeeery xoxoxoxoxoxoxox
Or was it Dante’s Inferno?…
yes!! the first ring of hell xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox
Mi piace moltissimo, mi fa pensare ad una foto “vecchia”, scattata molti anni fa.
Saluti, Patrizia
Sono d’accordo, ha quella sensazione. Grazie per il feedback, Patrizia.
Great shot and I love the light on the stone you’ve captured. This is an image I wouldn’t mind framed and hanging on my lounge wall. It has so much atmosphere. 🙂
That’s a lovely thing to say. Thank you, Vicki.
I really like this, Otto. Makes me want to be there on that small balcony with, perhaps, a glass of wine.
It would take some work, though. You would have to carry the bottle, glasses, and yourself halfway up a mountain. 🙂
I’ve been known to do some pretty dumb things. I will never forget how thrilled my friend and I were to be offered wine at the top of Half Dome by a young couple who wanted to congratulate two old dames for navigating up the chains. 😉 Now I try to carry my own supply of celebratory joy.
I love this photograph, such mystery, such wonderful light and texture. I feel I have stepped out onto the over hang of an Italian mansion, perhaps deserted and occasionally haunted ! So many facets.
That’s a lovely comment. Thank you, Rene.
You’re so welcome
