Great Photo Blogs

I have finally compiled the greatest photo blogs out of the many rounds of voting you readers have been through since I first announced in November last year that I soughed your suggestions for best photo blogs. Of the 206 blogs you suggested I assembled 34 of the most popular through the 14 rounds we have been through together. I think it ended up being a very far-reaching compilation. I have listed them on the page Great Photo Blogs. I hope this can become a reference page for all your bloggers who are interested in photography. I want to extend a warm thank you to all of you who helped me with suggestions and voted through the many rounds. As of now it’s no longer possible to vote – naturally. I hope some time in the future to repeat the process in order to be able to add new blogs which have come along since the creation of this page. Enjoy the many great photo blogs!

During the photo workshop in Villajoyosa, Spain, Terje I. Olsson focused on the economic recession in the country for his photo project. The economy in Spain has been under pressure for the last many years. It has translated into hardship for most Spaniards; unemployment, uncertainty, unrest, uneasiness and deprivation for too many. The first area to be hit by a recession is the housing market, which was very evident in Villajoyosa. Everywhere houses and apartments were being announced for sale or rent. That was what Terje captured with his camera. His images show beautiful houses, closed down and for sale, they show rundown house that has been on the market for a long time and his images show buildings under construction where the work has been stopped in the middle because of the recession. There is a glooming quietness in his photos, a telling contrast between beautiful colours and an almost lifeless atmosphere and his images convey a sense of downfall and almost death. His visual language is subtle, but all the more poignant.

Best Photo Blogs – Round 14

Best-photo-blogs_14We have arrived to the grand finale. That is to say the end of these presentations of best photo blogs which are out there in cyberspace. Included the blogs showcased in this 14th round 206 blogs have been presented for you. Originally when I started this project it looked like the amount would be closer to 500 but due to double and triple entries the ultimate amount of blogs finally came down to less than half. Those 206 blogs are all excellent blogs in my opinion, but I am sure there are still more out there that we haven’t discover yet. But for now I am putting an end to the Best Photo Blogs-project. Maybe I will need to open it up again at some later stage to include more blogs, but for now these 206 photo blogs are the best according to you, the readers. As soon as the voting of this last round is done, I will sit down and compile the best of the best from each round and list them on a separate page for future reference for anyone looking for good photo blogs. So, for the last time – at least for now – please help me narrow down the amount of blogs by voting over your favourite blogs among these presented here in round 14. As in earlier rounds you may cast three votes.

Round 1, round 2, round 3, round 4, round 5, round 6, round 7, round 8, round 9, round 10, round 11, round 12 and round 13. And just remember you can still vote at these rounds. Whether or not that is important enough to not give any particular blog your vote is entirely up to you. And, yes. I hope you take the time to vote, too. Best Photo Blogs – Round 11

best-photo-blogs_10It’s time to present another round of great photo blogs. As with the previous rounds there are one or two blogs that haven’t been updated for some time, but I’ll let you my dear readers decide whether that should be counting or not. Besides that I think that once again I am able to present a handful of very good blogs. They are quite different, both when it comes to style and what kind of photography they display, which I personally always enjoy. For eventually new readers of my blog, this presentation of blogs is being put out here for you to vote over which you enjoy the most. The point is to gather the best blog in one location for a reference and information source for everybody who has some interest in photography. There is so much knowledge and inspiration shared on internet, but it’s often hard to find the best places. I hope to be able to help a little with this. So please help me narrow down the amount of blogs to a manageable size by voting for you favourites. You may cast three votes in each round.

All the blogs in this and previous rounds have been suggestion by readers of my blog. In a couple of rounds from now we will come to the end of my list of good photo blogs. Best Photo Blogs – Round 10

best-photo-blogs_10Now with this tenth round of finding the best photo blogs, we are actually coming closer to the end. Initially I counted around 500 blogs that had been generously suggested by you, the readers of this blog. What I didn’t think of back then, is that many of you of course would have come up with a handful of the same blogs – simply because they are good and thus will regarded as potential for this list of best photo blogs by many of you. When I now see the end of this informal competition I realized that we are actually down to less than 200 blogs that will be viewed through these rounds. What it shows in my mind is that there is a concurrence as to what a good photo blog is and what makes it attractive and worth checking up. Still as we are now coming closer to the end, if you haven’t found your favourite photo blogs among the listed so far, please let me know and I will add them at then end of the list I already have. As far as I can see, right now we are talking about another three rounds before I will be able to compile the final reference list of best photo blogs.

Looking at this tenth round you will see some different blogs compare to what has been showcased before. You will also find a couple of more non-English written blogs. This I think it’s good, it adds variety and depth to the list. I know that for those of you who are use to English, other language may be a barrier. Nevertheless I think it’s worthwhile to give these other blogs a try, too. As we all know, the language of photography is universal and available to all no matter what written language we been taught n the first place.

If you haven’t already looked up the previous presented blogs you can find them here. Round 1, round 2, round 3, round 4, round 5, round 6, round 7, round 8 and round 9. And just remember you can still vote at these round.

Here are the blogs of this round:

Best Photo Blogs – Round 9

best-photo-blogs_9Round 9 of this informal voting over the best photo blogs out there on the internet will once again give you a hard time to pick your favourites. I think we will experience this all the way to the end. There are just so many excellent blogs out in cyber space. Which of course is great fun and very stimulating for all who have some relationship with photography, whether as a professional photographer or an occasional holiday shooter. I hope you will take the time to look up these 16 blogs I present for you this time – thanks to previous suggestions from you, the readers of my blog. I see that once again some have not been updated for some time, but I leave it to you to decide whether it matters or not through your voting – instead of me making an advance ruling. Talking about suggestions; as we get closer to the end of this presentation and voting rounds, and if you haven’t found your favourite blogs, just let me know and I will collect the extra suggestions and present them at the end.

If you haven’t already looked up the previous presented blogs you can find them here. Round 1, round 2, round 3, round 4, round 5, round 6, round 7, and round 8. And just remember you can still vote at these round.

Best Photo Blogs – Round 8

best-photo-blos_8Slowly by slowly we are working our way through all the suggestions for great photo blogs you – the readers of this blog – has found. Again I want to thank both those of you who have suggested blogs, as well those of you who take the time to go through the blogs each round and cast your vote. Of course I also hope that you during this process find blogs you will enjoy visiting and subscribe to. Another thing I would like to pass on is the fact that I am taking the liberty to include blogs in this unpretentious and informal ranking of photo blogs, without asking or without any consent of the bloggers. I hope they see that listing their blogs here, will create more traffic to their blogs and is not in any way meant to be offensive. But if any bloggers presented during any of these rounds wants to be removed, I will do so immediately.

If you haven’t already looked up the previous presented blogs you can find them here. Round 1, round 2, round 3, round 4, round 5, round 6 and round 7.

Let’s take a look at this round of photo blog. Once again it’s an impressive list and as usual it’s not going to be easy to choose. Please take the time to look up the various blogs – and vote for your favourites. Remember you may cast three votes.

Best Photo Blogs – Round 7

best-photo-blogs_7It’s once again time to launch another round of some very good and interesting photo blogs. As before they have all been suggested by your, the readers, and I am really amazed about both the quality and the quantity of blogs you have collected for me. Just remember this is not really a competition, but just a way to narrow down the amount of blogs to a manageable size. Don’t take it too seriously in other words, but more as a way to discover new bloggers out there who have some superb photos or noteworthy thoughts about photography to share. With this round we have assessed more than 100 blogs already and are well underway with the task.

If you haven’t already looked up the previous presented blogs you can find them here. Round 1, round 2, round 3, round 4, round 5 and round 6.

Over to this round of remarkable photo blogs: Once again it’s not going to be easy to narrow them down, but give them your best attempt. As before you have three vote you can cast among this round of 15 blogs. Enjoy them all.
