This is a very pleasing portrait. Though I am sure that you may have “toned down” the background, the only nitpicky thing I can mention is that I find the light behind his right ear a little distracting.
I didn’t notice the light behind his ear until Jane said about it, because his eyes held my attention, and then that gentle smile. He looks like a kind man.
