Last Week’s Instagram

Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. The pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.

  1. Squirrels are bold and cheeky by nature, but this one seems to have taken it to the next level; that certainly looks like a table at a café or restaurant. The fresh colors of the plants and fruit are appealing, and the sparkle of the squirrel’s tail fits right in. I like the way the board railing, the table edge, the wire, and the napkin holder all are a little ‘off’ from horizontal, too. They add to the sense of a ‘snatch and grab’ moment: for the squirrel, and for the photographer.

  2. oh, my, it’s pretty brazen about going after what it wants. i love watching them in our yard and neighborhood, but my husband despises them because they can be so destructive.

  3. What a great capture. I love squirrels and wish we had them here in Australia. They’re such cheeky little critters and the look of surprise on the one you photographed is delightful.

    1. I thought it was a fun encounter. 🙂 I didn’t know there were no squirrels in Australia (but I guess you do have you own kind of fauna, don’t you). Thank you for the feedback, Vicki.

  4. I love that you simply had to be there to spontaneously capture such a fun and capricious shot! We have so many squirrels in our yard and they are often hilarous. Annoying, too, but they have personality. This was fun, Otto.
