Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. The pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.
The clouds are so dark and solid-looking, they might be levitating chunks of the mountains. The grasses are beautiful, very festive
Hopefully the mountains are still standing there. I will have to check during the weekend. 🙂
Contemplation on many levels is shown.
I agree. Thank you, Sally.
The man seems to be contemplating something inscribed in the rock beneath his feet. I hope it says, “Kilroy was here.”
I hope it says, “lift you head, and enjoy the moment – and life”. 🙂
love the rich colors in this image. the body of water nearly escaped my notice.
It’s just a minor element, after all. Thanks for the feedback, Sherri.
What a beautiful, blissful loneliness in beautiful nature. Great photo.
It is really special to have all that mountain for yourself.
What a beautiful view! Stunning colours! The air seems to be very clean!
It was a typical clean and clear autumn day!
Timeless in its wonder – I love being on top too!
Nothing like the top!
I like the blue bottle of water, incongruous but part of the story.
It’s a small detail that most wouldn’t even have notice, I think. 🙂
I would love to be standing up there and enjoying that view!
Certainly not a bad place to be.
Definitely agreed. This is such a nice place and it has a bench (appear to be at least). The picture is intriguing though that the man was looking down and appeared to be deep in thinking. I think it is also a wonderful place to ponder things out too.
This is beautiful, Otto.
Thank you.
Stark images there, Otto
Thanks, Cornelia.
Well capture!
What a marvellous landscape shot, Otto. Beautifully captured with the hills/mountains in the top right-hand corner. This truly gives a perspective of how high up you are and how steep your climb was.
I could probably sit on that stone seat and admire the view for (literally) hours. There’s so much to see and I’ll bet the fresh mountain air was uplifting and invigorating.
It was quite a special with. The air so clear and all the beautiful autumn colours.
What a stunning shot! I’d love to be hiking there right now. Wow.
Interestingly enough it’s about an hour – or maybe a little longer – walk from the city centre of Bergen, Norway.
Lucky you!
What IS he pondering after that strenuous hike up to this beautiful spot?
Maybe nothing deeper than what to have for dinner? 🙂
We are left to our own imaginations.
What a gorgeous view! I have run out of superlatives in my enthusiasm for your beautiful photography, Otto, but I thank you for introducing me to such a beautiful spot “at the top of the world.” Exquisite!
I still appreciate your lovely words, Debra. Thank you.
This photo is so different, it just seems busy and chaotic, something I don’t usually equate with a natural setting.
I do like to break out of conventions if I can. 🙂
looks like he’s about to sacrifice his water bottle on that alter 🙂 hehe
Or maybe it’s his genie in the bottle…

Contemplating the path…
Indeed so. 🙂
That looks like an extraordinary location…one that just beckons you to explore. The man and his sport drink don’t seem to belong there. It feels like the place is like a peak at older times and the visitor is definitely present.
It is a special place. But only an hour hike away from the city of Bergen.
