Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. The pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.
Goodness! In some ways, Otto, this image, without the drinks containers, could come from the ’60s. Very striking play of light, different on each of three faces. Love the monochrome.
I glad you like it. Thank you, Tish.
Too much Otto!! 😉 😉
I can see that, but will still go with it.
Oh very 80’s big hair metal! Love it!
Thanks a lot.
Too cool! Extras headed to the set for Miami Vice or Magnum P. I.?
Or, is it possible, Knight Rider?!! Seriously, I like the way the patterned dress, and their artfully wavy hair, seems to emerge from the patterned shadows in the background.
Yes, it’s definitely too cool for their own good… Who knows where they are riding?
Love this photograph!
Thank you, Holly.
I love how stark this whole series is.
It’s been fun making it – and I look forward continuing the project.
My favorite part of the photo is the seated woman in the background. The expression on her face is priceless: not only weary, but world-weary. She’s seen that couple before, a thousand times over, and she’s not impressed.
Ha! I love your response. I looked at her and thought almost the same thing as you. To me her expression says, “What? You two again?”
Yes, or maybe “one more couple too cool for their own best”.
I agree, the über cool couple in the foreground are certainly balanced by the rather blistered gaze of the woman in the background.
I wonder what that tattoo on her leg says? So much to see in this one, Otto!
I was trying to decipher the tattoo, but haven’t been able to. 🙂
I was about to ask that question, too.
Love the capture of this couple. Almost like an old image from the 1960s.
It could be from any time period even. 60, 70, 80…
Great street shot, Otto! I like the way the woman sitting to the right of the couple lends physical depth and provides a contrast to everything about the couple.
Thank you so much for the feedback, Nancy. It’s always appreciated.
Love the light!
Thank you, Sue.
Cool shot. I like the motion and how both man and woman walk along with drinks in their hands. A Great shot!
It was a little weird to tell the truth. 🙂
It has a lot of dynamic.
Works so well in monochrome.
Thank you, Sally.
I love this photo, Otto! Such an intriguing couple! Their clothing and accessories are interesting and I feel drawn into the photo wondering where they’ve been or where they are going. It’s even more interesting because of the woman sitting nearby also taking in the scene! This is a recent favorite for me, Otto!
It was quite a couple. And I have no idea what they had been up to or where they were heading – in the middle of the day… Thank you for the feedback, Debra.
Wow. This sure looks like a throw back to the 60s or 70s!
Even back then it would have been noticeable, I think.
True. There’s something so compelling about good street photography. You do it well. Not everyone does.
Love it…They make quite a splash, even now!
That is a good description. 🙂
This is so great Otto!
Thank you.
That’s quite a contrast between the two tourists and the native woman.
Coincidentally, the photographer Robert Frank died on September 9.
Yes, coincidentally, maybe, but sad to have lost one of the greatest.
Says a lot about privilege and self-absorpsion, in my opinion, but a great capture.
It certainly says a lot about self-absorption.
was that an Elvis sighting? lol neat pic!!
No it was not – just a regular day on the streets of Seattle.
lol what a couple of goofs, i’m glad you caught them on film lol
Refreshing stuff, it’s good to refresh our memories,it makes feel great that we had a time out like that, this is art, this is a library and above all, this is life.thanks for sharing this.
And thank you for commenting.
What I enjoy most about this photo is the contrast between the couple and the woman in the background.
The couple are rather melodramatic and not a little hammy. The look on the seated person’s face is priceless. She’s obviously thinking, “What the…….?”
As I believe most of us are doing…
🤣
Excellent photo! A photo which ask a few questions, who are they and where are they going, what too do, when…and I can imagine my owns answers and related stories. Great work Otto, love it!
Thank you for the lovely feedback, Robert.
Great capture
Thank you.
