Last Week’s Instagram

Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. The pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.

  1. With the weekend ahead, I am happy to see this photo. The people carefree in the foreground, the beautiful clouds and the atmospheric colors. Happy and promising image. Blissful.

  2. very cool! I like this shot very much, especially the mysterious mountains in the background, and “the painted ships upon the painted ocean” or however that goes. Because the people are reduced to silhouettes, it made me think of manikins, having a day off from standing in store windows. 🙂

  3. It’s interesting that the people seem not to notice the sailboats. The image reminded me of W.H. Auden’s famous poem about the fall of Icarus. In the last lines, some of the feeling of your photo is captured:

“The expensive delicate ship that must have seen
Something amazing, a boy falling out of the sky,
Had somewhere to get to and sailed calmly on.”

      1. Don’t you remember those people in silohette? dancing with an iPod?… those commercials were a while ago lol i don’t think they even make iPods anymore lol
