Last Week’s Instagram

Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. The pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.

  1. Winter desolation, and play on hold. But also a dystopic ‘feel’: order somehow collapsed with the fallen sign in the foreground; glimpses of brutalist architecture in the background and no signs of life. And yet? Is the viewer being observed, a watcher somewhere in those out of focus trees…Intriguing shot, Otto 🙂

  2. I like this because it is a little off-putting. The texture of the ground is wonderful, but the buildings are so dreary and….is that dirty laundry hanging in the background? Something about this photo, Otto….keeps drawing me back for the details.

  3. I find this so darn intriguing. It looks like a play platform and so much dried mud. A little sad, but kids would make it come alive. Like the yellows and blue against the grey. And that arrow! Another place to play further along? the things we do to our environment! Well seen!

  4. I like the isolated color. The arrow pointing away from the scene makes me wonder where have the kids gone? I like the thought that this scene would come alive when the children come back.

  5. I’m fascinated by the focus on this image. It gave me the impression of the aftermath of some natural disaster, a flood or horrendous snow storm recently past. Really interesting perspective.

  6. What a unique setting, Otto. You’ve created a very “otherworldly” effect and it’s quite intriguing. I don’t think I would have seen the potential that you obviously did. I’m quite impressed!
