Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. The pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.
Interesting image. Love the effect you used. It helps really to focus on the story of the image.
Thank you for the feedback.
Winter desolation, and play on hold. But also a dystopic ‘feel’: order somehow collapsed with the fallen sign in the foreground; glimpses of brutalist architecture in the background and no signs of life. And yet? Is the viewer being observed, a watcher somewhere in those out of focus trees…Intriguing shot, Otto 🙂
You raise a bunch of relevant questions and interpretations. Great feedback. Thank you, Tish.
Somehow a sense of order lost been created by you…very well seen…as the photo sets one thinking.
That for me is the best, when a photograph makes you think. 🙂
You can “feel” the air of this picture. While examining it, I half expected some tumbleweed to roll through the shot. It feels cold, dry and desolate. Futuristically fortelling.
It was cold, dry and desolated. Interesting that it gives associations to the future. Thank you for the comment, Michelle.
I like this because it is a little off-putting. The texture of the ground is wonderful, but the buildings are so dreary and….is that dirty laundry hanging in the background? Something about this photo, Otto….keeps drawing me back for the details.
I am happy you are drawn to it. What’s in the background is a play ground. Thank you for the comment, Lois.
There is something foreboding about the photograph. The concrete nature with only a few trees to represent life. Very intriguing Otto.
I am glad you think so. Thank you for the much appreciated feedback, Holly.
It’s my pleasure Otto.
I find this so darn intriguing. It looks like a play platform and so much dried mud. A little sad, but kids would make it come alive. Like the yellows and blue against the grey. And that arrow! Another place to play further along? the things we do to our environment! Well seen!
It is a playground, and yes, when the kids are there, it totally changes the atmosphere. It’s actually not mud, but ice patches.
I am getting really bad with seeing detail.(cataracts) Thankfully , this will pass eventually.
I am sorry to hear about the cataracts. At least good that it will eventually pass.
Otto, I truly like the lines and rounds in this very well composed image. The title for it would be in my view: “Lost energy”
I like the title, and it’s a good description as the energy would have been totally different with kids playing there.
I like the shading effects in this picture. This allows us to focus on the main evocative elements in the photo. Great pic.
Thank you, Dominique.
My pleasure, Otto.
Very nice choice of guiding eyes to the subject by using the extra blur around it!
Thank you.
Wow. When we first looked at the picture, we saw a giant crescent roll laying on a child’s jungle gym. 🙂
That was quite something! 🙂
A thought provoking combination of elements, and treatment.
Thank you for the feedback, Denise.
I like the isolated color. The arrow pointing away from the scene makes me wonder where have the kids gone? I like the thought that this scene would come alive when the children come back.
It would change the scene quite dramatically, wouldn’t it. Thank you for the comment, Linda.
I’m fascinated by the focus on this image. It gave me the impression of the aftermath of some natural disaster, a flood or horrendous snow storm recently past. Really interesting perspective.
It does have some post-apocalyptic feel to it, doesn’t it. Thank you for commenting, Linda.
What a unique setting, Otto. You’ve created a very “otherworldly” effect and it’s quite intriguing. I don’t think I would have seen the potential that you obviously did. I’m quite impressed!
Thank you for the those encouraging words. Much appreciated, Debra.
looks somewhat post apocalyptic!! interesting shot, Otto!!
Thank you, Elaine.
I loved too, makes more imprssive… Thank you dear Otto, Love, nia
And thank you for the feedback, Nia.
Such effective processing for this image!
I am happy you enjoy it. Thanks a lot.
