Last Week’s Instagram

Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. The pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.

  1. These old-fashioned poles and wires that transport electricity have something very nostalgic. The photo reminds me of my childhood, when I often looked bat the sky on my back. I also saw these wires in the old-fashioned street where my grandfather lived. You take me back in time. I love it.

  2. It is what is nice with a good photo, they speak themselves even if it is probably not saying the same thing to each of us, I guess I could add the same for painting…:)

  3. Hello – It’s funny, I’ve always felt frustrated by, and gone to great lengths to avoid, telephone lines in my pictures, thinking of them like scratches or flaws in the picture, and now you and Lynn from bluebrightly have shown me really neat shots with lines as integral parts. So thank you, I like this shot very much, cheers, R.

    1. Thank you, Robert. I have come to the realization that there is no such thing as an object or a subject that cannot be photographed in a compelling or captivating image—by some photographer.

  4. A photo showing these lines…important lines to all of us. Phone, electricity, and more…connecting us to something. Yes, this photo does speak volumes to me. Thanks!

  5. This photo could quite naturally represent a photo taken in my neighborhood, Otto. We don’t have underground utilities, but instead, poles with transformers just like you show here. I like the way the sky peeks through and you encourage me to be less concerned with the “interference” that these electrical lines often interject into my sight line. It creates an interesting grid!
