Last Week’s Instagram

Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. The pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.

  1. That’s not a color I generally associate with autumn, but it’s glorious. In some ways, that clutch of leaves is equal to any red and orange hillside, or yellow valley. It’s the sort of detail that makes the season so delightful.

  2. As we look at a forest, bathed in reds and golds, isn’t is astounding to consider than no two of those leaves are identical? Your photo made me think of that. Lovely shot, Otto.

      1. Aaaaaa… I do not know Washington State as well as I know my California and foliage just doesn’t happen in Los Angeles! Ha! But I’m originally from Boston and went to school in Vermont…and the foliage in the fall…. well, I don’t miss much from my hometown — but foliage in any part of New England is breathtaking! It is something you must see in person… it’s magnificent! Looks like I might have to take another trip to Washington State some times soon. Hmmm. I had no idea. 🙂

  3. So pretty. It’s definitely fall around here in Michigan too…not peak here yet, but not too far away. I’ve been participating in a daily challenge where I go for a walk each day and post one pretty (or interesting) photo on FB for 365 days. That’s been really fun, even when the photo doesn’t end up being amazing, it’s still a chronicle of sorts of my year. This photo reminds me of that challenge.

    1. Long time ago I did a 365 project, too. It was a demanding but fun experience, As to the peak of the autumn, here in Washington State you can easily choose. Up in the mountains it’s over the peak, but down here in Seattle where I am, it’s still only starting,

  4. A lovely reflection of Autumn and the changing of the seasons.
    Very pleasing composition and DOF.
It’s not easy to photograph a few leaves and make them look interesting (as I well know). I always think the most simple compositions are a true reflection of a good photographer.

  5. Wow… with or without a comment, this image is a stunner 🙂

We are not so lucky to share such incredible colors, being from the tropics…

Thank you so much for sharing, Otto 🙂

  6. Otto. Your posts always inspire me to want to get out my camera and shoot. These days I’ve done not much of the sort, I have some kind of photo block. I appreciate you visiting my site, I have to get going again….thanks for the inspiration.

    1. Not always easy to break the block. I find it useful to just get out and shoot something even if I know it’s not going to be much of anything. But then suddenly things may change. I wish you all the best.
