Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week (this photo is actually more than a week old, but I haven’t posted any new material the last week). It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. Except for the technical details beneath the pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.
Facts about the photo: The photo was taken with a Panasonic Lumix LX-100 with the lens set at 34 mm (the equivalent of a 75 mm full frame lens) and then further cropped. The photo was transferred to my cell phone and processed with the Snapseed app with various adjustments and filters in combination with Instagram’s Kelvin filter.

Love the composition. There are many elements for the eyes to gaze around in the picture. The lone bird in the foreground, the closer mountains with houses and the far away and obscured high mountain top and the sky in the back. Very good!

Hi Otto, I granted permission for my other site but don’t think you will find anything. I am in the process of making it a smaller site focusing on past travels and a place to keep those photos as an on-line backup. I have England , Panama and Rotterdam photos ready but haven’t loaded them yet. I like your photo from instagram, the heron adds much to it. 🙂

It’s driving me a little crazy trying to figure out just where you were for this one! I keep thinking it must be south of Seattle, like Tacoma, but I don’t think that’s right. I agree with the others who pointed out how much there is to look at, and how the heron brings you into the picture.
The photo was taking on the beach of Discovery Park, just south of the lighthouse. 🙂
Surprise! There are so many ins and outs along the water here, I couldn’t tell, but now it makes sense. I love the way the mountain is covered by mist at the bottom, and all the elements – the mountain, that tree, the heron – are balanced so well.

I like the processing of this image, Otto. Looks a bit like Mount Fuji but it’s the wrong side of the Pacific of course! I recently had to replace my Canon G10 and bought a Lumix LX100 and I’m delighted with it – the lens is wider and shorter than the one on the Canon so It’s changing the way I shoot and the images are crisp. In fact for the last six weeks of shot only on the Lumix – helping me to get used to it.
The Lumix is a great camera isn’t it. Relatively compact and high quality. Thanks for the comment, Andy.
