Last Week’s Instagram

Munchow_1773-002_E2

Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. Except for the technical details beneath the pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.

Facts about the photo: Taken with my cell phone and processed with the app Pixlr-o-matic with the filter Aladin.

  1. I’m drawn to the study of the juxtaposition of hard linear structures walling in
around the organic soft elements represented in the humans in this photo.
    Timely photo.

Intriguing photograph Otto. A crane at a costruction site? Great shot . Holly

  3. paula graham says:

Love the framing , the composition, the subject and of course the soft light

  4. This seems to have some depth in time. Old buildings crumbled down, new buildings being built and current buildings stand strong. It makes you think.

  5. YellowCable says:

    Love the color tone!

  6. Fascinating composition and beautiful framing.

Are those PEOPLE? Something about this photo gives me the shivers. Perhaps that’s just the introvert in me. But also it looks to me like a scene in a science fiction story.

  8. shoreacres says:

There’s a reason they’re called cranes, of course. This one looks lonely, as though it landed in the middle of a very crowded pond, and would prefer to fly off and join its companions in a more congenial location.

  9. Lisa Gordon says:

There are some really beautiful tones in this one, Otto.
    I love the composition too.

  10. Nandini says:

    Fascinating, Otto!

  11. Chillbrook says:
