Last Week’s Instagram

Once a week—or every so often—I will display one of my photos captured and/or processed with Instagram over the last week. It’s a way for me to show photography that usually is quite different from my regular work. Except for the technical details beneath the pictures are displayed without any comments, hoping they will stand on their own. But I still very much appreciate any comments you may have.

Facts about the photo: I zoomed in with my cell phone to take this photo, but I don’t know the exact focal length. The photo was then processed in Snapseed with a Drama filter and then with the Kelvin filter in Instagram—applying only about 40 percent. I also applied the frame that comes with the Kelvin filter.

  1. I especially like the way the clouds at the top of the photo seem as substantial as the mountains. The swath of smooth clouds moving between clumpy clouds and mountains is just different enough in color and tone that it seems to be a river of light.
